Nancy Page's Garden Bouquet

Garden Bouquet
by Nancy Page.
(aka Florence La Ganke Harris)
Patterns for Garden Bouquet was first presented in a weekly format in 1931 in newspapers across the country. The signature urn and bird appliques with a sampler of garden flowers was a hit with quiltmakers then and now. I have always been attracted to this design and would like to share examples from quilt-makers of yesteryear and their interpretations of this botanical sampler quilt.

Garden Bouquet was even appliquéd in silk onto a Crazy Quilt.

Enjoy the charm of this next group of Nancy Page Garden Bouquet blocks. Made during the years of the Great Depression, they express a whimsical spirit combining the fabric scraps of thrifty time in fun and artistic designs.
